Welcome to Brentwood Family Practice!

We are a family practice office in central Austin located near Seton Main Hospital at the intersection of 35th and 38th. We are accepting new patients from age 6+.

Our hours are 7am-1pm weekdays, and 9am-1pm weekends. We know people have jobs during normal working hours, so we offer early morning and weekend times.

We are primarily a membership based practice with low yearly rates (payable monthly, quarterly, or yearly) and low prices per visit for members. We will accept patients who are not members, but the cost per visit is significantly higher.

An initial one hour visit is required for all new patients. Annual exams are one hour and all other visits are 30 minutes.

We have a very good patient portal that allows self-scheduling, prescription refill requests, and sending messages to the doctor.

We have a much smaller patient panel (around 400) than practices that accept insurance, (usually 1500-2000 per doctor) so we can usually see patients for acute needs on the same or next day, and schedule new patient visits in less than a week.

Services

What we do

We provide preventative care and evaluation and management for chronic and acute medical concerns for ages 6+. This includes prescribing medications.

We have in house testing available for strep, covid, flu, and urinary tract concerns.

We prescribe controlled substances for ADHD and weight loss treatment for daily use. We prescribe controlled substances for anxiety and pain on a short term basis only. Pain management and psychiatry are the appropriate specialties to manage long term needs.

What we don’t do

We do not have laboratory services at the office and will be happy to send orders to the lab of your choice.

We do not have imaging services at the office and recommend ARA. This means we recommend an urgent care or ER for suspected broken bones.

We do not have vaccinations in the office and recommend using a pharmacy for those needs.

We do not manage pregnancies or deliver babies.

We cannot provide emergency services and recommend going to the closest ER if you feel you are having a life-threatening emergency.

Meet Dr John Fardal, DO

Brentwood Family Practice is the private practice of Dr John Fardal, DO. He earned his medical degree from the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth in 2013 and completed residency in Family Practice at UT Dell Medical School in Austin in 2016.

He practices evidence based medicine and considers healthcare to be a partnership between the doctor and patient. ‘My practice style is to help people know what options are possible, based on proven evidence. I don’t tell them what to do, I help them understand their options so they can make the choice that’s best for them.’
